Michael Dinning is Executive Director of Business Development at the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, the national research center of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Mike is responsible for coordinating the development of new business at the Volpe Center, which includes over $200M of innovative programs annually, involving all modes of transportation. Mike has been active in the transportation payment industry for many years. He is past chairman of the Transportation Council of the Smart Card Alliance, and has assisted many U.S. transportation agencies to develop their strategies for payment system deployment. Mike has addressed a wide variety of industry organizations on electronic payment systems, and is co-author of the book, Smart Cards, Seizing Strategic Business Opportunities.
